AIR-CONDITIONING IN A BIG OFFICE. IS IT WORTH IT?
Air-conditioning in modern office buildings is basically a standard. However, many companies continue to operate in old buildings, where it is really hard to bear in hot weather, let alone focus on the computer or service clients. That is why managers often wonder whether they should install air-conditioning in the office. Certainly, office air-conditioning installation is an expense for a company, but is can be also seen as an investment.
The installation of an AC system is a remarkable event for employees. First of all, they will be able to carry out their duties comfortably and feel clean and fresh at their desks. This leads to greater work efficiency and, consequently, better company performance. Moreover, employees are more loyal to a company that cares about them and decides to spend a considerable amount to meet their wishes. This in turn results in that they praise their employer among friends, and the company builds a positive PR among potential employees. Air-conditioning also makes a good impression on clients and business partners visiting the company. Thanks to it, they see a given place as more modern and deal-friendly.
A good plan
It is worth to hire a professional company with extensive experience to install air-conditioning. After all, installing air-conditioning in a large office is not easy. It must be routed to cool a given room evenly. It sometimes happens that the air-conditioner is planned in a wrong place in the open space, and it turns out that the staff close to it are frozen to the bone, and those sitting at a greater distance do not even feel it operating. Separate rooms, such as small offices or conference rooms, should have separate circuits. So if you are planning to rebuild your premises in the near future, communicate the new room layout to the air-conditioning company, so that the system is planned as efficiently as possible.
HOW TO USE AIR-CONDITIONING CORRECTLY?
Air-conditioning is a brilliant invention. It makes you feel comfortable at home, no matter the temperature outside. However, air-conditioning has many opponents who claim it is very unhealthy. This is obviously a myth. Air-conditioning is even advisable for many respiratory diseases. However, the prerequisite is that is must be subject to regular and reliable air-conditioning maintenance.
A habitat of bacteria or not?
The operation of an air-conditioner is often associated with moisture. Therefore, many people say that air-conditioning is a habitat of bacteria and fungi that get into our lungs and cause diseases. This is not true. A properly serviced air-conditioning system has its filters replaced and these are designed to purify the air from the above-mentioned organisms, among others. The filters also capture pollen and dust in the air, which is why air-conditioning is recommended for allergy sufferers and asthmatics. Modern air conditioners are even able to purify air from smog, which is becoming an increasingly bigger issue in big cities. Furthermore, air-conditioning systems dry the air, which makes it more difficult for the bacteria living in our homes to survive. However, the prerequisite is that the air-conditioning system must be serviced and its filters replaced on a regular basis, yet many people forget about it or just want to save on it. The result is that everything that settles on the filters just starts to squeeze through them and reaches our lungs. In such a case, using an air-conditioning system can be actually unhealthy.
Setting the temperature and airflow
Many people desiring to cool down after entering the house in heat sit centrally under the air conditioner, setting the lowest temperature possible and the airflow on themselves. It’s the worst thing to do. Air-conditioning will affect your body like an icy wind and may make you catch a cold right away. A correctly set air conditioner should not blow air on household members, but cool the air throughout the room. Additionally, in order not to catch cold, the temperature difference between the inside and the outside should not exceed 6 degrees. Therefore, when getting back home during hot weather, do not set the minimum temperature. Do not sit under the air conditioner either. You should patiently wait until the air in the house cools down.
a set of installations giving access to necessary utilities, i.e. water, gas, etc., to facility users and allowing the use of heating, cooling, drainage, fire protection in line with industry guidelines.
Most often, sanitary installations are:
- ventilation and air-conditioning systems,
- refrigeration systems,
- central heating systems,
- water supply systems / hot and cold water, circulation/,
- sewage systems,
- fire protection systems.
Technological installations are a set of installations required for production processes, including:
- compressed air systems,
- dedusting systems,
- sprinkler systems,
- gas systems,
- other technical installations designed to individual needs of a client.
the removal of contaminated air from the rooms and supplying fresh air in its place. Ventilation is necessary as air in all rooms is constantly contaminated.
The basic task of all comfort ventilation systems is to create and permanently maintain such air quality, as to meet certain hygiene requirements for people staying in them. The major purpose of this type of systems is to provide people with comfort and well-being. This also applies to their health and to create the conditions for efficient work. The quality of air in a closed room is constantly changing as a result of people staying in it and the operation of various types of equipment. In this case, a ventilation system supplies fresh and clean air with specific parameters to the closed rooms.
Industrial ventilation systems are of great importance for production processes. With a production process going, various air contaminants may be created and they have a negative impact on the air quality in industrial rooms and halls. This type of pollution contaminants can often be dangerous for both people working there and can have a harmful effect on technological processes. This also applies to the operation of some industrial machines, as the lack of ventilation or incorrectly selected parameters can accelerate their wear and tear. The amount and nature of air contaminants forming during technological processes can be relatively easily determined. However, a bigger issue is to determine the amount and way of contaminants spreading. In this case, it always requires a thorough knowledge of the technological process and proper installation measurements. Our company specializes both in designing and installing industrial ventilation systems.
a process by which the air in the building is subjected to treatment. The air supplied to the rooms is subjected to technical treatments to ensure it meets specific parameters (temperature and humidity). An air-conditioning system allows achieving comfortable conditions in homes, offices and other living rooms. Industrial air-conditioning is used in production plants or large-area warehouses, where it provides the required temperature conditions for industrial processes. The air-conditioning system can also be used for heating in transition periods (when heating systems are not yet in operation) and for drying the air. Our offer is addressed mainly to production plants, warehouse halls, offices, commercial establishments and restaurants. We also serve other industries where there is a need for refrigeration in a technological process.

Comfort air-conditioning involves automatic control of indoor conditions to ensure thermal comfort for people throughout the year. People, their well-being, health and productivity at work are the priority here. We talk about air-conditioning when the intended action is to maintain relevant temperature, relative humidity, pressure and air cleanliness parameters in a room.
Industrial air-conditioning provides such air temperature, humidity and cleanliness in rooms or a separate space as to allow technological processes to run correctly. Typically, work environment parameters are determined individually for a given process and lie within strictly defined ranges. Failure to meet the required parameters results in damage to materials, equipment or prevents the production process.
a technical field dealing with the removal of heat from the cooled environment in order to obtain and maintain temperatures lower than ambient temperature. It is based on a mechanism similar to that used in industrial air-conditioning. A liquid is cooled by evaporating another liquid, called a refrigerant.
The most important application of the refrigeration technology is to store perishable foodstuffs in the so-called cold stores, which prevents rotting, moulding, weight loss and changing the nutritional value of stored food products. Refrigeration is one of the most important food industry processes, as it slows down the growth of bacteria in food, maintains its organoleptic properties and extends shelf life.
Equipment used in commercial and industrial refrigeration applications are:
- shopwindows and glass-cases in supermarkets, patisseries, bars, ice-cream shops, etc.,
- fridges used in industrial kitchens (maturing rooms and product ripening retarders),
- fridges for pharmaceutical products,
- blast chillers.
Food products requiring storage at a temperature slightly above 0°C are mainly mature cheeses, beverages (beer, wine, juices, carbonated beverages), cold meats and deli products.
Meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and fresh milk products are stored at around 0°C.
Negative temperatures down to -25°C are used in storage of ice cream and other frozen products, such as fish or vegetables, and products processed to extend their shelf life.
KLIMA-VENTA® offers the design and and installation of cold stores, including industrial air-conditioning, which provide the required temperature conditions for industrial processes. The scope of our activity in refrigeration includes the delivery, assembly and service of equipment and systems. Our services are addressed mainly production plants, commercial establishments and restaurants. We also serve other industries where there is a need for refrigeration in a technological process.
